Towards the end of my contract I was wanting to explore other options to see what work was out there. As job vacancies are highly sought after in my field, I wanted to expand my network to meet new professionals in different hospitals. I was told by a colleague that locum work would give me more experience and more connections which would allow me to make an impression past my resume. I beat 23 other short-listed candidates which was largely due to my recent work at that hospital on a weekend locum shift.
